Cooking food in bulk saves a ton of time in the kitchen. Preparing a large amount of food saves time cooking and even decreases the number of dishes to wash.
You just made a ton of food, now how do you store it neatly in your freezer?

Think of meal prep as one really messy kitchen day then a week of minimal clean up and prep work.
This will help free up more time for walking after dinner or other household chores.
Glass Food Storage
Glass food storage is great to have because you can freeze food in it and even heat food in the microwave or oven.
It’s convenient to freeze food in glass storage then thaw it overnight in the fridge for dinner.
Silicone Freezer Trays
These are my favorite option for freezing items in bulk.
Silicone freezer trays can help save room in your freezer and help you measure out portions for future meals.
I love to freeze red sauce for pasta, homemade pizza, a base for chilis, or enchilada sauce.
Silicone trays are also great for freezing chili, soups, small servings of meals, and even treats.
Gallon Freezer Bags
These are a must if you are using silicone freezer trays. After freezing meals in your silicone freezer trays, pop them out and store them in a labeled gallon freezer bag.
Label Items with Name & Date
Always label and date everything that your freeze because you will forget what you even made after a while.
Most homemade freezer items remain fresh for up to 3 months, so make sure to rotate your inventory to prevent waste.
Conclusion
Make food in bulk and freeze it for a quick lunch or for those busy week nights when you don’t have the time or energy to cook. Either thaw in the fridge overnight in a glass container then reheat or heat from frozen in a microwave safe bowl.
